The society of the Naquirfa is divided between the commoners and the nobles. The commoners dwell in the freshwater swamp, living in the dark and mild conditions provided by the dense treeline. This results in several distinct dissimilarities from the nobles: Cool colors, such as blue and purple, are very common among them - this is often attributed to the fact that they are fresh water dwellers. They also have bio-luminescent features, and are adept at maneuvering through the swamp, their features developed specifically to transition from water to land easily and quickly.
Nobles, however, reside in the saltwater gulf. They stick to the shallower areas, in and around the coral reefs that are found within the gulf. Due to living in the tropical ocean water, their features are exaggerated, as are their colors - bright and exuberant like the saltwater fish common in this area. They are weak and vulnerable on land.
All Naquirfan’s clothing is woven from the silk of the Lunaris moth, found in their swamps, which is resistant to the destructive nature of the waters they live in. (moss and growth is common on the clothing of the swamp dwellers, but the fabric itself is resistant to any molds/growth within the fibers)
Their hairstyles are also reflective of their environment. Though hair is essentially useless to them, they keep it due to their societal expectations of beauty. (they are still human after all, with a few of their body modifications done for looks only - rather than for their usefulness. this is especially common among the nobles) The styles and headdresses common among this tribe are designed to hold the hair to their head, keeping it tightly braided/placed in decorative hair nets. This is so that it is easier for them to move around in water, as well as keep it up and out of their faces when moving in/out of the water.
Nobles usually take up positions of power, such as governors or lords. Knights and royal guards tend to come from nobility as well, but they are equaled in their ranks by commoners. All of Naquirfa is overseen by a single Royal family, often a king or a queen. (or both)
The commoners tend to be comprised of craftspeople, those with magic-oriented trades, workers, or clergy.
